What the Knownwell Booking Flow Looks Like
Knownwell is a booking-first telehealth clinic, not a self-service GLP-1 funnel. The 8-screen registration captures identity, demographics, and payment for a future Virtual Metabolic Care Visit — but it does not ask any clinical questions online. All medical screening, including the FDA-black-box GLP-1 questions, happens during the live visit with a Nurse Practitioner. The model has real clinic infrastructure behind it; the catch is the wait time.

All clinical screening is deferred to the live Virtual Metabolic Care Visit with the matched Nurse Practitioner.

The 8 Stages
In our walkthrough on April 29, 2026, the earliest available appointment slot was Tuesday, May 19, 2026 — 19 days out. We checked the calendar both ways and found no in-person or virtual availability before that date. This is the longest appointment lead time we have observed in our catalog, by a wide margin. For comparison, Klarity offered same-day or next-day virtual visits during our walkthrough at $49 self-pay; Virta booked a video visit in days; most direct-to-consumer GLP-1 platforms ship medication within 5-10 days of intake completion. A patient who needs to start GLP-1 quickly will not find this path competitive on time-to-treatment, regardless of clinical fit.
The self-pay visit fee is $299, charged upfront at booking (not deferred to the visit itself), and “no shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a $50 fee.” This pricing structure is unusual: most cash-pay GLP-1 platforms charge a recurring monthly membership of $99-$249 that includes provider time, prescription, and shipping; Knownwell charges per-visit and bills the medication separately. A patient who needs follow-up visits to titrate or adjust will pay $299 each time unless an insurance benefit applies. The 19-day wait combined with the $299 sunk cost makes the slot-hold timer particularly anxious — if the timer expires, the patient loses their place in the queue and may face another multi-week wait.

The clinical model rewards patients who want a longitudinal provider relationship and structured metabolic care; the trade-off is that the access path looks more like a primary-care clinic than a fast GLP-1 funnel.
Because Knownwell asks no clinical questions before payment, a patient cannot tell from the booking flow whether they will qualify for a GLP-1 prescription at the visit — they have to pay $299, wait 19 days, and find out live. There is no eligibility screen, no FDA-black-box check, no comorbidity capture, and no allergy review in the registration funnel.
