Hims’ intake includes a three-screen eating-disorder sequence that asks about active purging, binge episodes, severe restriction, and formal ED diagnoses — and then presents a required safety acknowledgment screen explaining that purging, severe calorie restriction, or falling below BMI 18.5 while on a weight-loss medication can cause electrolyte imbalance and raise seizure risk. You must click “I understand, continue” before you can proceed. This is a standout feature. Not every weight-loss telehealth platform screens this carefully for the risks GLP-1 use creates for patients with disordered eating.
Hims’ intake does not collect any real diet-history or weight-loss-history depth — there’s no question about specific diets tried, programs attempted, past prescription weight medications, or how long prior attempts lasted. Physical activity is captured as a single 5-point scale. It also uses a simpler binary question about harm rather than a formally validated depression instrument like PHQ-2 or PHQ-9. For some patients that reads as a faster, less bureaucratic experience; for others it’s a signal that the intake leans on the eventual clinician review to fill in the gaps.
