What the GoodRx Care Intake Looks Like
We walked through the GoodRx Care GLP-1 intake ourselves, from the opening eligibility quiz through the government photo ID upload. Two design choices make this intake meaningfully different from most GLP-1 telehealth flows.
Solid. A dedicated alcohol-frequency question, a named recreational drug list, and a specific diabetic drug-interaction check. Eating disorder and suicidal thoughts are both present but bundled into a disqualification list rather than dedicated screens. FDA black-box MTC / MEN-2 family history is notably absent.
Higher than most. The intake requires legal name matching pharmacy records, an explicit HIPAA Authorization, and a government photo ID upload before checkout is reached.

Clinical Safety Screens Performed
GoodRx Care is explicit about this. A dedicated slide near the end of the flow states: “At GoodRx, we only offer treatments you can trust — FDA approved, No compounds, Effective results.” Every medication offered in the treatment selection is an FDA-approved brand-name product: Foundayo (tablet, $149/mo), Wegovy tablet ($149/mo), Wegovy pen ($199/mo), Zepbound KwikPen ($299/mo), Zepbound vial ($299/mo), or Zepbound pen ($995/mo). Compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide are not offered. For patients who specifically want brand-name product through a conventional prescription, this is a defining feature.
GoodRx Care is the first intake in our walkthrough catalog to require a government-issued photo ID upload (driver’s license or passport) before checkout. The 3-step progress chart shown early in the flow makes this explicit — “Health history → ID verification → Review and checkout” — and the final ID screen offers both a device-camera capture and a file upload, with guidance on taking a clear, uncropped photo. This is a legitimate prescription-integrity step and is aligned with how a conventional pharmacy verifies prescriptions. It also adds real friction that shorter telehealth intakes don’t impose.
Rather than defaulting to home delivery like most GLP-1 telehealth services, GoodRx Care lets the patient select a preferred retail pharmacy (Albertsons/Sav-on, Costco, CVS, Pavilions, Ralphs, Sams Club, Target/CVS, Vons, Walgreens, or Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy) and pick a specific store location by ZIP code. This is a useful option for patients who prefer to pick up their prescription in person, want to use a local pharmacist for questions, or want to stack GoodRx coupon discounts with their chosen pharmacy.
The intake does not include a dedicated FDA black-box screen for personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN-2 syndrome — a notable absence given that this is the prescribing warning most other brand-name GLP-1 intakes capture explicitly. It also does not ask about pancreatitis history as a dedicated question, does not collect an actual blood pressure reading, does not include an explicit pregnancy check, and does not use a validated PHQ-2 or PHQ-9 depression instrument. Eating disorder and suicidal thoughts are both present but bundled into one “are you currently being treated for any of the following” disqualification list rather than getting dedicated screens with their own safety context.
